A month deeply cherished

I've had a very profitable and satisfying month. Reading has been at the top of the agenda and my second beret (red this time) is knitted and looking beautiful. Visiting various people has been good & reaffirming plus I've started a once-a-week project with Barbara where we distribute tracts in letterboxes or make bookmarks and things that could be given out regarding the gospel message. Another thing we have in mind to do also is making bags/nappies/bears etc for an organisation called Christian Mission International Aid (CMIAid) who distributes them by the shipload to needy countries around Europe where they visit. But that idea is still in conception phase and we'll need to get materials/patterns (not to mention sewing skills in my case!) before we begin.

At any rate things are happening a day at a time and ideas that began as 'we should do that..' has finally become 'next time, let's..' so i'm truly happy. One standout milestone (to me) is getting around to using that laminator for making bookmarks. They really are very charming and laminating things make all the difference to a finished product. The icing on the cake.

I've also started swimming lessons which has been good. And the mini reunion with Ellen, Mary, Manda, Sil, Jeff, Shuai and Johann has been lovely. Reminded me how much i love night driving (as the passenger that is) and also; must look into buying some Richard Clayderman music. Ellen introduced me to it and it's definitely worth looking into.

Also, must mention that in the last week of April, we had visitors from Ireland which meant an inevitable visit to my beloved Blue Mountains during their stay!!! Ooh i love it more and more every time i go there. Blackheath is looking absolutely gorgeous this time of the year with their Liquid Ambers all aflame and dancing around along the lanes. Their company was felt and missed, especially upon their leave. They're going to a week-long Malaysian church conference in June and were it not for the timing i woulda loved to have gone with them, and maybe even pop into Singapore to see dear Bernice and her sis. But for now, there are solid things to ground me here. Tutoring Stan once a month; the project with Barb, the various people to reconnect and meet up with; reading my Bible (i firmly intend to finish it this year) and also, jobs to get me through. Speaking of which - i have a job interview tomorrow. If anything comes out of it, i'll dedicate the next post to it. Because the circumstances surrounding me even getting to the phone stage has been quite significant.
