**that will do for starters:P I had a (great)^3 day yesterday. Couldn't have asked for a better first duty from St John's. We were given the privilege of covering a very special Aussie event and seeing these amazing, old (like seriously old) people walking/wheelchaired/driven along displaying their medals of service really stirred something deep inside. I was also fortunate to be paired with a lovely person who taught me a fair few about warmth and spontaneity (traits she happens to possess) and we only had to treat 1 casualty, 8 on the whole, despite expecting about 100. Highlights for me included: seeing the old generation followed by the new. So when i saw the strapping young RAN and RAA lads marching behind the fathers who use to fight for this country, it felt symbolic of a collective voice that cried "don't worry, there'll always be people to carry on serving this country. Your work won't be forgotten or neglected". It was pretty touching. Another highlight were seeing the last of the horses that use to be in the war -i think one of them was called 'Trumper'.. and of course the outrageous costumes the various bands wore:D
What a day^^ wouldn't it be nice to finish all days with that expression?
1 Comments:
