Bushwalk euphoria
Today was somethin' special^^Barbara, Bernice and I went to Blackheath's Evans Lookout where we began a 3 hour journey through the Grand Canyon, finishing at Neates Glen. Aren't they such beautiful names?? The scenery, atmosphere and everything was just awesome. There was so much variety in the landscape.. something for everyone to ooh and ahh over ~ we went thru light and dark, up and down, wet and dry.. it was like something out of the Sunshine country. Especially toward the end where we drove to Echo Point after sunset and the sky was a hazy pink on top of a sleepy blue *bliss* We also stopped at a few quaint places for pick-me-ups. We had fish 'n' chips in a boulevard surrounded by Liquid Ambers which is something spectacular during autumn (we collected some leaves), and we had a browse thru this embroidery shop that was really neat and cozy.
And on the side of the road at Blackheath, we passed the funniest sign ever saying: Don't Laugh. This is serious. There IS a gallery over there=> What gallery it was we never found out but how seriously quirky?! i won't forget it in a hurry that's for sure:D
The drive back was also very cool. We had hymns playing the whole way down and i got to see the milky way (very faintly) glimmering in the background.. the sky near the Blue Mountains are so lovely.. we also spotted Orion's belt but the Southern Cross always seem to be missing its 4th point. So this was a day where God's glory couldn't be missed -everywhere we looked we felt awed and refreshed at the beauty of his handiwork. There's something magnetic about the mountains and today reminds me that i don't go there enough .:. It's like icing on the cake to go with close friends too .:. Our next trip will be in the June-July holidays and we'll be walking the Giant Staircase through the 3 Sisters.. anyone that would like to come along is more than welcome. Just drop me a note. I think holding down a date is the biggest problem so far tho o.O
Other news: Next Tuesday I get to go on my first St John's duty for the Anzac Day Pde!! I'm happy to be given the opportunity, specially' since i'll be missing out on a trip organised by church friends to go to the Minnamurra Rainforest on the same day:( Oh well, i don't mind really. Minnamurra can wait; but oh how i wish i could go!!!! But today really helped to ease the pain:P *i hate missing out on nature trips, especially to rainforests*. So yeah this mid semester break has been pretty sweet. Uni will be like another planet til i step out of holiday mode.
The church conference last week was also fantastic - and for the first time ever, i went to an open air meeting and distributed tracts on the street. It was pretty scary at first but it became a memorable experience. It's nothing much really, but it's a way of standing up for the Lord and I enjoyed it a lot. The fact that Bernice and Barbara and a couple of other people were there really helped. Their physical presence was all the support i needed and also the fact that they were doing the same thing. Service for the Lord can be expressed in so many versatile ways, and i honestly appreciate how there is an avenue for everyone to express their love for Him no matter the role. There's no act (active or passive) that escapes him, especially ones for Him.
