U2

Last night was sweet as.. beautiful weather, reasonable casualty complaints, a clued up partner, and the best location in the whole stadium! man i couldn't have asked for anything more in my wildest dreams -not that i dreamt that much -if at all- about it. I'll start from the beginning:

I arrived at 3.30pm as requested on the website to discover that we were duped into coming 2 hours early and about 4 hours before the concert started!! I wasn't annoyed .. but from now on, a packet of cards, paper and lollies will be a mandatory part of my first aid kit for boredom. Once everyone else started arriving, we got split off into groups of about 8 and headed off to our assigned posts. I would've been perfectly happy being on the highest level stuck in some room watching Wizard of Oz all night but when i realized that my group was on the ground level which was right on the mosh pit floor i was like .. hey i could get use to this:)

We then got further split into pairs and my partner was simply adorable. I think i developed a mini crush on him over the evening by reason of him being so cluey and friendly. I think he's the only guy i've ever had a crush on with blue hair.. hmm.. i should get out more:P
Anyhoo, right before U2 did their stuff a whole lot of us got called out for some unknown reason. I think we made ourselves very unpopular for being such wandering neon lights. We couldn't have been more conspicuous if we tried. It turned out that my partner and I were to be stationed in one of the 2 huts right in the centre of the mosh pit, behind the light & sound guys! It was absolutely awesome. I think my favourite moment was when i just realized that and not a minute later, the lights went out and U2 began.
The atmosphere and everything was just terrific. My first concert duty. My first concert period. At the end of it all, we just strolled back to the station, tho not before getting some cool Pad Thai chicken (without the chicken funnily enough) which i split with another ambo. So there's my update for the night.

Today was the complete opposite. I finished making a little rocking chair out of wooden pegs not too long ago and I adore it so much. Can't wait to make heaps of things to start giving away. Looks like origami will be taking a breather:) The stuff i got at the fete before U2 should also provide plenty of craft-generating ideas for now.. oh i'm so happy:D
