St John
Well uni has kicked off pretty well:)
I can cross *Join St John* off my to-do list and as soon as I complete my Senior First Aid course next Saturday -- I'm a member! I'll be a St John's Officer, uniform and all=D
I've been waiting an aaage to do this. Today I attended a New Member's Workshop in Newtown and was pleasantly surprised. Even more so to find that a block down from the workshop, there was an icecream manufacturer that sold 'baby size' servings of ice cream the size of your fist for $1. Read it ppl:
$1!!! I felt amazingly ripped off when i think of all the times i got gelatos/maccas cones/other icy condiments/etc. *sigh*
Once i start my duties -ooh i get tingles just thinking about it o_O" Actual hands-on experience at events like The Rocks markets, concerts, Easter Show, parades, moonlight cinemas, etc etc I'll be doing what I've always dreamed of. Helping the community in a practical yet fun way. I'll also be learning a lot so that's a very real bonus for me, not to mention the millions of other things (there's too much to detail here so i'll do it as the year rolls along).
Here's a good place to thank God again for all his grace -grace i don't deserve. Everything i do stems from the fact that i love him and can't live without him. For all he's done for me through Jesus, whatever i can do to glorify him is all that matters in the end. Even tho it adds to a small amount in the whole scheme of things. So my hope through St John's is much more than just fun and brain food. It's about trying to look at every person that Christ died for through his eyes, and fulfiling his law to love my neighbours the best i can.
anticipating many things
Yesterday, I did 3 great things.
1) -and by far the best- i held a day old baby in my arms.
2) I hung out with a fast becoming close friend Khue.
3) I went to uni and (subsequently) had a break from work *hehe*
Life just got considerably sweeter. The babe's name is Josephine Bopha Chamron and she's simply sublime. She's Rachel's baby (which makes her Barbara's granddaughter) and Nathaniel's little sis. He's so proud to call himself a big brother and I'm prouder to hear it=D
I'm looking forward to a great many things of late.. hanging out /catching up with my lovely, unique friends.. D's in all my subjects (a supremely difficult goal for me).. kindling my flame of a brain ((which won't be so hard once i get use to 8-hour Thursdays with no breaks (start feeling sorry for me people:P)).. playing with darling Josephine.. Kelvin's 7th birthday in 2 months.. watching my kit grow up (it's now 6 months old would you believe? = 7 human years).. going to Auburn Botanic Gardens to feed the ducks.. to name a few.
And miracle of miracles `` I have a free day this semester!! so i can work Fridays and save up for my dream (that i keep to myself:)
.. sigh.. my desk looks like a mini-wind bomb has dropped onto it and scattered pages plus various miscellaneous items all over its surface and onto my bed. Where are organization skills when you need them??
- And tomoro I get to see my brothers=D Seeing Stan's 14th happened on Tuesday, a celebration's in order of course.. I can't wait! Isn't anticipation a unique feeling?
and oh - HURRAY FOR AUTUMN!!!!!
P.S. I won't give a holiday update because this place doesn't need one. But i will say this much: It was awesomely cozy. I stayed a month at May's tutoring K in english which strengthened the family bond in all these little ways. I had 2 unforgettable road trips which seems so far away now that i can hardly believe they happened this year. I helped at a conference and will go to one again next month on the weekend starting Good Friday. So lots to remember, think and dream about. Will do immediately:)
