good reads

Here are some books i can readily recommend for the voracious reader:

David Copperfield -C. Dickens
The Death and Life of Charlie St Cloud -B. Sherwood
The Zero Game -B. Meltzer
The Codex -D. Preston
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time -M. Haddon
The Anne of Green Gables Series

How do I know they're great? coz I read them fresh off their pages (last fortnight or so) and they're the icing on the cake.
What started purely as a kickstart mechanism for my sleepy reading pace (in preparation for uni) turned into an energetic consumption of literature. It's crazy:) But it's good sport. I can't praise reading enough. Tho I have plans to make swimming my favourite sport -that is, if i ever learn to swim.
Last night I dropped "Introduction to Chinese Civilization" for "History and Philosophy of Science (HPSC2100)" -I'll never get rid of these annoying mouthfuls of words *scowls*.. i'm pretty much ready for uni; all i need now is my timetable which they're keeping til o-week *shakes fist*
First semester.. the thought of it sounds almost like a dream ***

Enrolled subjects

Boy i haven't touched this thing!~
I've lost my writing muse - which is really bad since I have 2 subjects that involve copious amounts of essay writing:/
My enrolled subjects sound a dream: Anthropology, Pharmacology fundamentals, Chinese for(Advanced beginners), Introduction to Chinese Civilization
But I'm shirking away from the fourth one more and more, so i think I might toss it for Biochemistry which sounds much more tempting.
At any rate both is useful, so I won't sweat over it.
As you can probably tell, I'm beginning to miss uni. It's been great to have a break -but the length is simply ridiculous for anything short of a round-the-world-trip..Work has been good too, but my skin has finally given up its fight with the cleaning sprays and has now inflamed itself in angry protest. Now I've taken a week off and am staying at May's place most of the time so i can tutor Kelvin in English. The kids love my kitten=) it got desexed yesterday, not that you can tell a difference from the way it still carries on. I'm beginning to think Crooks is two-faced (sweet and calm around strangers; and pretty much the opposite around familiars) -well it's still pretty sweet but it's a bit too cunning i think~~

So February is turning a real treat. I've contacted a real old friend and after years of no contact, it turns out she lives really close to where I live! Barking!! Her birthday's today and mine's tmrw so what perfect timing - she's one of a group I call "Unforgettables" == the footprint of friendship she stamped in my heart those many years ago has not faded and a reunion in such a time as now is too sweet to be captured by words ..
